Amber Kerby, PMHNPBC, APRN, MSN, RN
FOUNDER of Amethyst Mental Health
Hi there! I'm Amber, a passionate, board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a focus on promoting health and wellness through a holistic approach to treatment. With years of experience in the field, I firmly believe that true healing lies in addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person's life. Instead of solely relying on medication management, I take a comprehensive approach that incorporates various therapeutic modalities, including mindfulness, nutrition, exercise, and alternative therapies, to help individuals achieve optimal mental well-being.
I have training and experience working with patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. My nursing education began in 2013 in my Mississippi hometown before moving to Denver, CO where I later obtained my Associates, then Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. I then pursued a Masters of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of South Alabama and moved to Nashville in 2018.
I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental, laid-back space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their unique journey towards healing. I believe that mental health is not a one-size-fits-all concept, and I tailor my treatment plans to meet each individual's specific needs and goals. Through collaborative and compassionate care, I aim to empower individuals to take an active role in their own healing process, helping them develop the necessary tools to navigate life's challenges and cultivate long-lasting resilience. If you're looking for a mental health provider who approaches treatment with a holistic and relaxed perspective, I would be honored to be part of your healing journey. Be prepared to put in the work towards a better version of YOU!

My practice is built on a foundation of compassion, cultural awareness, and the deep understanding that comes from lived experience - I’m here to meet you where you stand!
As a proud advocate for ethnically diverse individuals, LGBTQIA+, those facing PTSD/trauma, and navigating neurodivergence including ADHD and Autism – I create a space where you can finally feel seen. I also manage medications for mood disorders, OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, and major depressive disorder.
But medication isn’t the only answer— I’m passionate about blending traditional treatment with mindfulness practices, nutritional approaches, and innovative therapies tailored specifically to your unique story.
When I’m not championing for mental wellness, I’m surrounded by love from my husband and our furry support squad: Remi (ESA), Moe (Service dog), Harley (Golden Doodle), and our cat Binx, who keep me grounded in what matters. My journey from Alabama roots through intensive care nursing has fueled my mission to bridge the gap between mind, body, and spirit in mental healthcare. I don’t just treat symptoms—I partner with you to unlock your potential. The path forward is yours to define!
